The inside track

Whether it’s hand-thrown porcelain pots, a gumboot stand or an armchair for £120, be inspired by our finds for your home

The Northern Irish ceramicist Derek Wilson has launched a collection of lidded pots called We All Contain Things.

His hand-thrown porcelain looks wonderful displayed in groups, combining sombre celadons and grays with vibrant orange.

The depth of colour is achieved by polishing and refiring several times. Prices start at £70 for a 7cm-high pot.

These quirky units would be a decorative addition to any hallway. Vincent (£350) and his bigger brother, Herbert (pictured, £495; H86cm x W80cm x D35cm), are two new chests of drawers from Oliver Bonas.

Handmade in India, using mango wood, each has useful cubbyholes and coloured drawers with mismatched handles.

Fed up with wet gumboots clogging up the hallway? Barefoot Kitchen’s designers have devised the Bootloop: a metal rack (H57cm), handmade in Cornwall, that stores wellies upside down outside the back door.

A pretty finishing touch for a neutral bedroom, or a practical extra chair for the sitting room, the Antoinette (H71cm x W65cm x D69cm) is available in charcoal or cream, with button-back linen canvas upholstery.

And it’s great value at £120.
