The Fallout Trust

In Case of the Flood

(At Large)

There is a wave of bands taking a holistic approach to their art, and with their own graphic/video wing and club night in Dalston, East London, the Fallout Trust fits the blueprint perfectly. The sextet’s fevered indie-folk sound, with its sawing violin and edgy atmospherics, is likely to invite comparisons with Arcade Fire, but the band can sound as intense and thoroughly art-rock as Radiohead (anthemic opener When We Are Gone and standout Before the Light Goes), as mellow as the Super Furry Animals (TVM) and as out-there as Love (Where There’s no Cold to Feel). Most importantly, In Case of the Flood is the sound of a band intent on doing its own thing regardless, and doing it rather well.
