Feeling blue will help charities raise funds
Another capacity crowd is expected at the Kia Oval today, and spectators are being encouraged to wear something in blue to support Cricket United, a fundraising appeal supporting the Chance to Shine, PCA Benevolent Fund and Lord’s Taverners charities. Blue will feature on the stumps and bails and both teams have agreed to wear the Cricket United logo on their shirts. Charities hope that the occasion will become part of the cricket year in the way that the Sydney Test incorporates pink to promote the Glenn McGrath Foundation.
Trio not being rushed
Haroon Rashid, the chief selector, has hinted against any early comeback for Pakistan’s spot-fixing trio against England. “After having been out of cricket for the last five years, one cannot judge them merely on some good performances in a couple of matches,” he said.
