The Angeopoulos litigation

To date, Constantine has withdrawn his first four civil claims and at his instigation the adjudication of his fifth claim has been postponed. A further claim for injunctive relief (requesting attachment of my clients’ assets) has been dismissed as being legally unfounded.

Constantine has been threatening a criminal complaint for the past five years. He appears to have chosen to do so now just prior to the Olympics to instigate speculation and unfavourable comment against Gianna who is chairing the Athens 2004 organising committee. According to Greek criminal procedure, the prosecutor is obliged to initiate a preliminary investigation to determine whether grounds exist to press charges. At present no criminal charges have been brought. My clients are confident that the allegation will be dismissed as unfounded.
