In last week’s Sunday Times Travel section (June 20), in a feature on the Jarawa tribe of the Andaman Islands, it was suggested that readers seeking more information on the tribe should contact Survival International. The Sunday Times is happy to point out that visiting the Jarawa, who are hugely vulnerable to western diseases, as a tourist is illegal, and that Survival International is not connected with any such venture.
