What’s the point in a sofa if it isn’t fit for serious lounging? If you want to get supine in front of the TV, you need to go for something deep, squishy, soft and supersized. Loaf has a great line in the sort of sofa that’s built for out and out comfort. Even their names sound like a great night in: there’s the “sloafer”, the “squidgeblocks” and the “wodge”. When it comes to buying something big and bold, it’s best to keep the upholstery low-key: taupe linen, dark amber velvet, navy cotton. I love this balloon-shaped grey-green couch from Siena Home (no 11). If you haven’t got the space, most of these come as two-seaters too.
