A service of thanksgiving for the life of King Constantine of the Hellenes was held on Tuesday February 27, 2024, at 11am in St George’s Chapel, Windsor.

The service was led by the Right Rev Dr Christopher Cocksworth, the Dean of Windsor, who gave the bidding. The choir of St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle was directed by Mr James Vivian.

The first reading, Ithaka by CP Cavafy, was given by four of the late king’s children, Princess Theodora, Prince Nikolaos, Princess Alexía and Prince Philippos of Greece; the second reading, Revelation 21. 1–7, was given by Crown Prince Pavlos of Greece, the heir to the throne. Lord Soames of Fletching gave the address. Prayers were led by the Dean of Windsor and Archbishop Nikitas of Thyateira and Great Britain.

Members of the royal family who attended the service included the Queen; the Princess Royal and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence; Mr and Mrs Mike Tindall; the Duke of York; Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi; Sarah, Duchess of York; the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester; the Duke of Kent; Earl and Countess of St Andrews; Lady Helen Taylor; Princess Alexandra, the Hon Lady Ogilvy; Mr and Mrs James Ogilvy; Ms Marina Ogilvy; Prince and Princess Michael of Kent; Lady Sarah and Mr Daniel Chatto.

Among the foreign royal guests in the congregation were Queen Anne-Marie of the Hellenes (widow); Crown Princess Marie-Chantal of Greece; Mr Carlos Morales Quintana; Princess Tatiana of Greece; Mr Matthew Kumar; Princess Nina of Greece; Princess Olympia of Greece; Prince Achileas of Greece; Prince Odysseas of Greece; Prince Aristides of Greece; Princess Alexandra of Greece; Mr Darius Mirzayantz; Princess Irene of Greece.
