Teenagers deny murdering City lawyer

Two teenagers denied murdering a City lawyer during a brief appearance at the Old Bailey today.

But one, aged 18, admitted he had robbed Tom ap Rhys Pryce, a litigation solicitor with Linklaters.

Mr ap Rhys Pryce, 31, was stabbed to death on January 12 this year only yards from his home in Bathurst Gardens, northwest London, after a night out with colleagues.

He was engaged to Adele Eastman, an employment lawyer with Farrer & Co, and had been carrying printouts of their wedding plans. Neighbours who witnessed the attack said his last words were: “You’ve got everything.”

The 18 and 19-year-olds, who cannot be named for legal reasons, are due to stand trial on October 30.

Linklaters established a charitable trust in memoriam to Mr ap Rhys Pryce to provide educational funding for the disadvantaged.
