The firm has three accredited specialists, from a total of only six in Scotland, in housing and residential tenancy law.

It is the sole legal adviser on the development of a model constitution and supporting guidance for registered social landlords in Scotland. The constitution is being developed in association with the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations (SFHA), the Scottish Housing Regulator, the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator and the Financial Conduct Authority. The firm was involved in the development of the SFHA 2020 model rules, reflecting the updated regulatory framework.

TC Young’s private client and family team has worked with and supported clients throughout the pandemic. It has led webinars on the impact of lockdown, governance, development risk, the furlough scheme, rent arrears, antisocial behaviour and government guidance on freedom of information.
