Now Prince Harry is reported to be dating a young woman called Florence Brudenell-Bruce, who models both swimwear and lingerie (multi-tasking, you see. Aren’t women amazing?) Between ourselves, this is a bit of a letdown, as the entire nation officially hoped that Harry would run off with Pippa Middleton and that next year we could enjoy a repeat of the royal wedding with its bank holiday and jolly speculation about whether the happy couple would be the Duke and Duchess of Kettering or the Earl and Countess of West Bromwich.

It took a royal girlfriend to eclipse the news that — brace yourself — Cheryl Cole has a new hairdo. According to the Daily Star, this is a sign that love is blossoming once more between the former X Factor judge and the footballer Ashley Cole, the husband she divorced last year.
For readers who are interested in the technical details of hair care, the Star explained that Cheryl has a shoulder-length asymmetric bob in a smoky quartz colour (that’s “slightly blonde” to the rest of us).
