The writer of the critically-acclaimed TV series Succession has seen his personal fortune soar by more than £8 million over the past two years.
The value of Jesse Armstrong’s personal company jumped to just over £9 million by the end of May, compared with £3.2 million a year ago.
Just like the Emmy-award winning comedy drama, which follows the Roy clan as it controls one of the biggest media and entertainment conglomerates in the world, Armstrong has had a very successful time of it over the past three years.
According to Companies House, he is the director of Jesse Armstrong Ltd and filings show that total assets at the firm have grown from just over £805,000 in 2019.
Armstrong, 50, who co-wrote Peep Show, Fresh Meat and three series of The Thick of It, enjoyed success in Britain, but his first American show has brought a new level of acclaim.

The show, which is considered to be one of the sharpest and most scathing comedies on television, first appeared on screens in 2018 and stars Brian Cox and Sarah Snook.
Last week HBO announced that it had agreed to a fourth series of the show after the first episode of the third series drew in more than 1.4 million viewers. That was the biggest audience for Sky Atlantic and Now TV, and four times as many viewers as for the opening episode of the second series.
