A 19-year-old student was found dead on a beach in Thailand after swimming alone, an inquest has been told. Bryony Freestone, of Little Houghton, Northamptonshire, drowned off the coast of Koh Chang on August 14. Attempts were made to resuscitate her when she was found at about 9am and she was taken to a clinic, where she was confirmed dead. The coroner at Northampton County Hall recorded a verdict of accidental death. The Exeter University student, above, enjoyed going mountaineering and scuba diving with her twin sister, Sophie, their mother said in a statement read to the inquest. Fiona Freestone said “she saw the beauty in the world and was not ever afraid to chase it”.
