Google purchase

Google, the internet search group, reinforced its determination to expand beyond its core search business with a deal to buy dMarc Broadcasting, a radio advertising company, for up to $1.2 billion (£680 million) over three years.

Intel shares hit

Intel shares tumbled 8.8 per cent in after-hours trading after the American computer chip maker reported fourth-quarter sales below its previous guidance and forecast first-quarter sales levels that fall short of Wall Street expectations.
