Pirelli in property deal
PIRELLI and Morgan Stanley Real Estate Funds have agreed a deal to sell 20 per cent of a portfolio of real estate purchased recently from Fondiaria, the Italian insurer. The disposal to Italy’s Alerion Industries covers 19 properties, raising €200 million (£140 million).
Cola firms attack report
THE Indian arms of Coca-Cola and PepsiCo have jointly denounced a report from the independent Centre for Science and Environment in India, which claimed that drinks sold under the two brands contained high levels of pesticide.
Iraq needs $5bn, says UN

THE United Nations has given warning that Iraq will need at least $5 billion (£3 billion) in international donations to ensure that essential services can be provided. Iraq’s Finance Ministry forecasts that it will need $20 billion to run services in 2004, with inadequate income accounting for the shortfall.
