Credit card firms face retailers’ suit
A law firm representing a group of retailers said that it had filed a class action suit against the world’s biggest credit card firms for allegedly fixing credit card interchange fees. The suit names Visa, MasterCard, Bank of America, Citibank, JP Morgan Chase, Capital One and other major banks.
Greenspan criticises tariffs plan
Alan Greenspan, Chairman of the US Federal Reserve, criticised moves by the US to impose unilateral across-the-board tariffs on Chinese imports as a risk to the global financial system. He was referring to a Bill before the Senate threatening a 27.5 per cent tariff on all Chinese imports if China does not revalue the yuan.
Independent expects advertising boost

Independent News & Media expects its UK advertising revenues to grow “in the high teens” this year because of rising demand for The Independent newspaper. Gavin O’Reilly, chief operating officer, said that the newspaper would turn a profit next year.
