US to lift export control

The United States has agreed to lift export controls on equipment for nuclear facilities in India. Export licensing policies will also be eased, after talks in Washington between Shyam Saran, India’s Foreign Secretary, and Marc Grossman, US Under-Secretary of State for Political Affairs.

Kuwait’s bourse tops 6,000

Kuwait’s share index closed above 6,000 points for the first time yesterday, as the Arab world’s second-biggest bourse benefited from high oil prices. The Kuwait Stock Exchange index, consisting of 110 companies, gained 43 points to close at 6,017.70. It doubled in 2003 and is up 25 per cent this year.

Israeli drug approval

Agis Industries, the Israeli drugmaker, said that Clay Park Labs, its American subsidiary, had received approval from the US Food and Drug Administration to sell its enema mesalamine — a generic version of Solvay’s Rowasa enema.
