Steve Lomas was signed from Man City in 1997 for £1.6 million and has contributed tirelessly to the West Ham cause ever since. Despite a midfield full of talent, Lomas became un-droppable and was made captain by Harry Redknapp. So often the unsung hero, his absence when side-lined through injury is detrimental.
