A full-service regional stalwart, the Bournemouth-based Steele Raymond has been plying its trade in Dorset and the southwest for more than 40 years.

Cases this year include advising the Hampshire-based company Pennyfarthing Homes on the sale of 66 residential units at Verwood in Dorset to the Sovereign Housing Association. The sale was Pennyfarthing’s largest affordable housing transaction to date.

The firm attracted media attention for different reasons in 2020 after one of its partners, who had allegedly touched a female colleague’s bottom “on a weekly basis” was cleared of misconduct by the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal. While the partner admitted he had taken part in “office banter” that had mentioned the patting of bottoms, he told the tribunal that the allegations “absolutely didn’t happen and [were] absolute fabrications”. He added that the episode had been sparked by a desire for revenge over a disputed parking space.
