MILTON KEYNES (Northamptonshire won toss): Hampshire Hawks (4pts) beat Northamptonshire Steelbacks by 67 runs
SHANE WARNE bowling and a Miss Gay Philippines contest were just two of attractions on offer in Campbell Park yesterday and a pleasingly large number of people chose the former when first-class cricket returned to Milton Keynes for the first time in seven years.
They got value for money too, though a fifth consecutive defeat means the Steelbacks are now firmly in relegation trouble. They were reduced to 17 for four in the thirteenth over by impressive bowling from Alan Mullally and Billy Taylor.
Graeme Swann’s dismissal for 59 marked the end of any hopes of a home victory.
