REAL MADRID V CHINA DRAGONS
Saturday, ITV2, 12.30pm; Repeated at 6.25pm and 11.40pm
The Harlem Globetrotters of football unveil their latest star name and it is no less than Mr Goldenballs himself, David Beckham. As if having Ronaldo, Zidane, Figo, Raul and Roberto Carlos is not enough the Spanish champions now have the England captain in their ranks, who will be invaluable to the club in their attempt to break into the Asian market. ITV2 has live coverage of all four games of Real’s tour of China, Japan and Malaysia this week, where success will be gauged by the amount of shirts sold off the pitch rather than results on it.

BRITISH GRAND PRIX
Friday, BBC Two, 6.45pm
Second only to the Golden League in prestige, the British Grand Prix is the highlight of the domestic season and, now that it has been restored to its traditional Friday-night slot, it is also the most popular with a sell-out 17,000 crowd guaranteed. With the World Championships in Paris just three weeks away, this is one of the last opportunities for the athletes to fine-tune their preparations and score a moral-boosting victory over their rivals.
