Practising exclusively Scottish family law, SKO has particular expertise in international and cross-border cases. Typical work focuses on financial provision; private and public child law; intergenerational gifting, including tax and succession planning; incapacity issues and related reputation management and/or criminal issues.
Recent cases have included a high-value divorce with related tax issues, and international child abduction. The firm has also handled an ultra-high-net-worth multi-jurisdiction prenuptial agreement.

Rachael Kelsey, a founding partner, was elected president of the US-based International Academy of Family Lawyers this year, becoming the organisation’s first female president from the UK in its 37-year history.
