England 30-9 Ireland FT

6.53pm: A resounding victory for England that must surely earn Stuart Lancaster the coach’s job full-time. They secure second place, but the biggest celebrations today are in Wales, where Warren Gatland’s team have completed the Grand Slam with a 16-9 win over France at the Millennium Stadium. It’s not such good news for Scotland, though, who collect the wooden spoon after going down to a 13-6 defeat against Italy in Rome. Thanks for sticking with us today and throughout this year’s RBS Six Nations.

6.42pm: Ben Young takes a quick tap penalty and waltzes through a beleaguered and half-asleep Irish defence. Game over.

6.20pm: England have driven their own scrum over the Ireland try line and touched down, but the whistle blown before the ball was grounded. Another England scrum inside the five-metre line. Massive England pressure.

6.15pm: PENALTY GOAL England 12-9 Ireland Sexton replies instantly for the Irish after Morgan spilled the ball in his own 22.

6.11pm: PENALTY GOAL England 12-6 Ireland Farrell makes no mistake. Ben Youngs is on for Lee Dixon for England, and Ronan O’Gara is on for Ireland in place of Gordon D’Arcy.

6.09pm: Incredible! Tom Croft breaches the Ireland line and, just as he was about to offload the try-securing pass, he lost control of the ball and let it slip out of his hands. In better news for England, they force the Irish scrum to collapse, earning Farrell the chance to kick another penalty.

6.03pm: The second half is under way. Both teams will be looking for a bit more compsure after a disjointed opening period.
