Sir, You report (July 11) that AM and FM radio may be discontinued in favour of DAB.
The advertising for digital radio tells us that the sound quality is superb, but in practice the reception of the signal may be very poor or even nonexistent. Here, in the outback of Sidcup, reception depends on where the receiver is located and it also varies during the day.
