Shearman Bowen acts for clients in the UK and overseas in a variety of cases.
The firm defeated an application to extradite its client, who was wanted in the US over alleged fraud offences. The case was difficult to win given the nature of the legislation, which is tipped in the US’s favour.
The firm also represented Jonathon Seed, the candidate for the police and crime commissioner role in Wiltshire, who was accused of electoral fraud. The case was dropped before the start of the trial.
Shearman Bowen also acted during a case at Southwark crown court where it was alleged that a senior police officer was bribed to allow licences to be granted for well-known West End clubs. The case against the firm’s client has now been discontinued.
