RESPECT THE KIDS: Tony Blair should be congratulated for tackling the anti-social behaviour that blights our cities and his range of sanctions against the families is a welcome step. I hope he will give the same attention to addressing the root causes of this behaviour. Sanctions only work where the kids have an alternative. I implore both Blair and our own first minister to reach into the Treasury’s coffers to help fund the sort of schemes that offer these kids a chance in life. As Blair said, the majority are decent human beings, so let’s show them this much respect. — Gerard Eadie, Vice Chairman of The Prince’s Trust (Scotland).
