The draw for Euro 2024 has pitted Scotland against Germany, Hungary and Switzerland in Group A.

Steve Clarke’s men will kick off the tournament when they meet Germany, the hosts, in the opening game in Munich on June 14. They then travel to Cologne to take on Switzerland five days later before concluding their group against Hungary in Stuttgart on June 23.

Here’s everything you need to know if you’re travelling with the Tartan Army to Germany this summer or will be supporting from home.

Where can I watch Scotland play in the Euros?

For those at home, Germany v Scotland in Munich will be broadcast on ITV. Kick-off is at 8pm (UK time) on Friday, June 14.

In Munich, all the tournament’s matches will be shown on a giant floating screen on the Olympiasee (Olympic Lake) at the Fan Zone Olympiapark. Fans can watch from the grass steps. Entry is free with no ticket required and activities include live bands, a small-sided pitch, freestylers, stand-up comedy, open-air cinema, esports tournaments and live interviews.

Scotland v Switzerland in Cologne will be shown on the BBC, kicking off at 8pm on Wednesday, June 19.

In Cologne every Euro 2024 game will be shown on large screens in Fan Zone Heumarkt, a public square close to the River Rhine in central Cologne. Entry is free and no ticket is required. There will be DJ sets, entertainment, food and drinks.

There also will be giant screens showing the Scotland game, Germany’s matches and other fixtures at Tanzbrunnen, in the Rheinpark, with the Rhine and Cologne Cathedral as a backdrop. Again, entry is free with no ticket required.

Scotland v Hungary in Stuttgart will be shown on the BBC, kicking off 8pm on Sunday, June 23.

In Stuttgart, there will be Fan Zones at Schlossplatz with regional food and drink outlets, at Marktplatz with family-friendly activities and at Karlsplatz with live music, dance and lectures. All three have free entry with no ticket required. The match will be shown on giant screens at Schlossplatz.

All 51 Euro 2024 games will be shown in pubs, restaurants, cafés and squares in towns and cities across Germany.

Where can I get tickets for the Scotland games?

You can’t, or at least not through any official paths. Some 1.2 million tickets were sold for all games across the tournament even before the final draw was made. The final batch of tickets sold via the official Uefa website and the Scottish FA were all snapped up at the end of January.

The SFA was given 10,000 tickets by Uefa for each of the three games although thousands more Tartan Army fans will be in attendance and tens of thousands are expected to travel to Germany with no tickets at all.

There are online ticket firms claiming to have tickets for the three Scotland games but Uefa has warned that there are serious risks of fraud and overpricing from buying tickets from third-party websites.

Scotland’s Coefficient, a fan account on X/Twitter, offers a Euro 2024 ticket swap website for those who have tickets but want to exchange them for another game, although it stresses that it is merely a platform for putting ticket-holders in touch with each other, and fans swap at their own risk.
