Brighton College
The College announces the appointment of Professor Lord Skidelsky, FBA, OB, as Chairman of the Council, in succession to Robert Seabrook, QC. Lord Skidelsky will preside at Speech Day on Saturday, June 26, at the Brighton Dome when the guest of honour will be David Dimbleby. Old Brightonians are welcome.
Future events to which Old Brightonians are invited include: Wednesday, July 3, The Commemoration Service at noon and graduation at 3pm Saturday, September 18, Autumn Homecoming with rugby vs Whitgift and the official opening of Rose Lecture Theatre; Saturday-Sunday, November 6-7, a trip to Ypres to unveil a plaque in St George’s Church to OBs who fell in the war; Sunday, November 14, Remembrance Sunday Service and OB lunch; Saturday, November 27, 2004, OBA AGM and Annual Dinner with our guest speaker Phil de Glanville; Saturday, May 14, 2005, 160th anniversary May Ball; Saturday, June 18, 2005, cricket vs Tonbridge on the 150th anniversary of the College’s first cricket fixture.

The Governing Body of Cranleigh School announces that Mr Anthony Townsend, MA, has been elected to succeed Mr Dudley Couper, MA, as Chairman in December 2005. Mr Anthony Townsend, who joined the Governing Body in 1989 and is currently Chairman of the Finance Committee, will assume the role of Vice-Chairman with immediate effect.
