It has been described as the law firm with one gear: attack. Schillings continues to defend the world’s most gossiped-about people robustly — or aggressively, depending on your point of view. It was singled out as part of a group of law firms in January this year by the Conservative MP Bob Seely, who accused their reputation management teams of “legal gangsterism”. All the firms named in parliament have repeatedly denied any wrongdoing.

The firm still represents the Duchess of Sussex and her husband, Prince Harry, in what has been a tumultuous year for the former royals as they have tried to break into Hollywood. The Schillings partner Jenny Afia even appeared in the Sussexes’ documentary about the so-called “Megxit”. This year the couple were branded “grifters” by a Spotify executive as their £16.4 million deal with the streaming giant collapsed.

In September, it was announced that the firm is setting up a public relations and communications agency for its wealthy and famous clients.
