Sassy WRVS

Sir, I disagree with Judith Holder (“Grumpy. I am. Are you?” times2, Nov 28) Members of the WRVS, which is not only for women, do not spend their time busying themselves with tray bakes.

The WRVS is sexy, sassy and trendy. I am a single mum, I’ve done my bit as a podium dancer, a model and I’m proud of my boob job, but I’m no grumpy old woman and since I’ve been with WRVS I’ve yet to come across anyone who is.

And as far as tray bakes go, looks as if you’ll have to check out legislation on food and hygiene to see that they are not on the menu anymore.

We’ve been around now for 65 years but things have moved on. WRVS is a dynamic and modern charity with more than 60,000 volunteers who strive to make life better for older people. We’re all fighting to knock down stereotypical images of older men and women that cause more damage than good in society.
