Safety warning for AstraZeneca

HEALTH Regulators in the United States have accused AstraZeneca, of Britain, of making “false or misleading” statements about the safety of one of its bestselling drugs.

The company revealed yesterday that it had received a letter from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) this month giving warning about statements featured in sales and marketing material for its schizophrenia drug Seroquel. The FDA said that the material provided insufficient warnings about the risk of blood-related side-effects from the drug.
