Ryan Kent is set to return to the Rangers squad for the first time since suffering an injury against Lyons on September 16 when Steven Gerrard’s side face Brondby in Denmark tonight.

The Scots could, however, be without Glen Kamara, whom Gerrard said has an even chance of making the Europa League match having suffered an ankle knock.

Kent hobbled off in the 70th minute of the defeat to Lyons six weeks ago but has returned to full training this week. Ryan Jack, meanwhile, could be named in the Rangers squad for Sunday’s Ibrox clash with Ross County. The midfielder is yet to make an appearance this season and last played on February 21 in a victory over Dundee United.

“Ryan Kent trained fully with the group yesterday and came through and looked pretty good,” Gerrard said. “He’ll travel with us, assuming he comes through this morning’s session. We’ll decide on what we do in terms of selection in due course.

“Ryan Jack is training away. He’ll have an outside chance of being involved at the weekend, depending on how this game goes. Ryan’s been back in full training for a couple of weeks now.”

Kamara played the entire 90 minutes and scored in Rangers’s 6-1 victory over Motherwell at Fir Park last Sunday. Rangers yesterday flew to Copenhagen ahead of a match that will go some way to determining their fate in group A.

“Glen Kamara has had a whack on his ankle,” Gerrard said. “He actually had two kicks on the same ankle. There’s a little bit of swelling in there. There’s been an improvement overnight which gives him that 50 percent chance and we’ll wait as long as we need to in terms of Glen because he’s so important.

“We’ll probably know at the back end of today’s [Thursday’s] session or tomorrow morning whether he’s going to be fit to start.”
