Founded in 1880 by William Russell Cooke and Sir Henry Paget-Cooke, the firm once had among its clients the Liberal Party and members of the Royal Family. Today its work focuses on a mix of commercial, not-for-profit and private clients.

This year Russell-Cooke’s charity team acted for its long-term client Kick It Out to complete a £3 million funding and collaboration deal with Sky. The move helped the charity, which seeks to stamp out racism in football, to develop its offering in a number of areas, including education initiatives.

In March the firm’s family group published the report Generation Game, which assessed issues facing families and the outlook for the future. It was based on research carried out with experts in wealth and estate management, philanthropy and psychology.

Unusually for a law firm, Russell-Cooke is the proud owner of two beehives, which buzz away happily amid the solar panels on the roof of its Putney HQ.
