Members of the Royal Family are to appear in a TV documentary that will give viewers a behind-the-scenes glimpse of life at Windsor Castle.
The BBC1 series, produced by the makers of Wife Swap, includes a rare interview with the Duke of Edinburgh and will feature the Queen in several scenes. The three-part series, provisionally titled Windsor, is likely to be broadcast in April - coinciding with the wedding of the Prince of Wales and Camilla Parker Bowles.
The independent programme maker RDF has spent a year gathering footage from the royal household and the series will show how the castle is run.
A Buckingham Palace spokesman said, “The programme makers approached us and we have been working with them for the past year. The series focuses on life at Windsor Castle and the surrounding area, including the Crown Estate, Windsor Great Park and St George’s Chapel.

“The scheduling of the programme is a matter for the BBC,” the spokesman added.
Television rights to the series have already been sold to the United States, Canada, Australia and Germany.
