Pittsburgh-headquartered Reed Smith — with offices in London, Leeds, Singapore and Shanghai — was founded in 1877 by Philander Knox and James Reed. In early 2024 the firm’s London office will relocate from Broadgate Tower to “a modern and sustainable” warehouse space in Spitalfields, Blossom Yard & Studios.
It recently advised the music company Concord during its estimated £246 million purchase of the publishing and recorded music catalogues of Tony Banks, Phil Collins and Mike Rutherford, as well as those from their years in the band Genesis.
This year the firm advised the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies on a method to ensure extra financial support is available when needed most in response to a disaster.
The firm has provided its services without charge to help Ukrainian, Afghan and other asylum seekers in Europe.
