Rakti ready for his return

A HIGH-CLASS field of 11 will go to post for the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot tomorrow. All the leading fancies stood their ground at yesterday’s final declaration stage, including Rakti, Powerscourt and Sulamani.

Rakti won the Champion Stakes at Newmarket in October, but has not run since chasing home Falbrav in the Hong Kong Cup in December.

Michael Jarvis, his trainer, said yesterday: “I can’t say that he won’t come on for the run, but I would still hope that he would be ready enough to run very well. He is as good as anything I have trained.”
