PwC, a behemoth with thousands of lawyers and a presence in 90 countries, has been focused on its “new law” offering over the past year, which involves working with companies to build better and more efficient legal departments. The organisation has also developed Contract Counsel, an artificial intelligence platform that reviews contracts and identifies potential risks. It says that this saves time and frees up lawyers to deal with more complex matters.

A recent study by LexisNexis suggests that PwC’s legal services revenue almost doubled over the past five years, from £48.5 million to £100 million. This was a result of activities such as international business reorganisation work with BP, and tax litigation instructions for clients including British Airways, RBS, Sky and Virgin Media.
