When it comes to golf sims, it is a case of Electronic Arts imitating life. As Tiger Woods dominates major tournament after major tournament, so the game that bears his name mauls the competition. Sadly, ProStroke Golf struggles to compete.
That is not to say that this is a bad game, rather that there is nothing to get particularly excited about, not even the innovative dual-stick control system that supposedly helps you to groove your swing as a professional would.
The commentary from Alan Green, Sam Torrance and Ian Baker-Finch is superfluous even by sports sim standards, and some of the graphics let the side down as well. The numerous courses are well rendered, though, and it has an addictive quality.
