Post haste with electric trikes

BRISTOL Postmen and women are to be given electric trolleys, tricycles and scooters to help them with deliveries. Rules prevent them carrying more than 16kg at a time, but the scooter will be able to hold 48kg and the tricycle and trolley 150kg, at a top speed of 25mph.

The Royal Mail, which is piloting the scheme at ten offices, including Bristol and Kent, said: “It should help posties be more efficient ... they should be able to move faster and in a way that is friendly to the environment.”
