A serving woman police officer is being investigated for misconduct after allegedly having sex on the balcony of a bar at a reunion party, Greater Manchester police have confirmed.
The force has received several complaints that the officer and a retired male officer were seen by many people while outside a glass door at the event, held for serving and retired officers from its South Manchester division on February 12 at the city centre Rain Bar.
“Two officers at the bar were all over each other,” said one policeman. “Then they went outside on to the balcony. While they were having sex, a member of the bar staff went outside to collect glasses and must have seen them. When the man came back into the room he said, ‘I hope you all enjoyed that’,” the policeman told the Manchester Evening News. About 60 people were at the reunion.
Greater Manchester police said that they were carrying out an assessment and had yet to find any evidence.
“Our professional standards branch has received information regarding an incident at a city centre bar,” a spokesman said.

“Officers are carrying out an assessment, which includes speaking to bar staff and people present at the event as well as viewing CCTV footage.”
