Police are hunting an armed man who is thought to have shot and killed a man in a tiny Somerset village.
Charlie Broadway, 23, poses a risk to the public and should not be approached, according to Avon and Somerset police.
Detectives said that two men were shot at a residential property near Ilton, north of Ilminster, just before 8pm on Thursday. One died at the scene and a second received “non life-threatening” injuries.
Police have arrested one suspect, but are searching for Broadway, whom they say is “potentially armed”.
Chief Superintendent Jon Reilly described the “fast-moving investigation” saying: “We’re using every necessary resource to investigate these serious offences and our main priority is to locate and arrest Charlie Broadway.

“We have arrested a 28-year-old man in connection with this inquiry and he has been taken into custody.
“We’re continuing to warn the public not to approach Charlie Broadway but to report any sightings to us immediately via 999, quoting log number 1051 of 5 May.”
Police confirmed that the call had been about a “serious incident involving a firearm which we believe is of a domestic nature”.
Mr Reilly said: “Due to the gravity of what happened, Charlie Broadway is potentially armed and as a result poses a risk to the public.”
The situation has been described as “very fluid” by police.

Rob Pearson, the force incident manager, said: “The bottom line is it is still ongoing. We have not located the man. It is a very tricky and dangerous situation.
“There are lots of police officers working now to try and catch him.”
