DIRTY DITTIES: As a Celtic season ticket holder, I take exception to some of the songs being sung at football matches (Old Firm songs ‘not sectarian’, says MSP, News, last week). If Celtic supporters wish to sing songs in support of Irish republicanism — as some clearly do — then they should find their own outlet for such “celebrations”. Celtic Park, or other football grounds, are not appropriate venues. Their focus at football matches should be on supporting and cheering on Celtic, not the despicable and defeated IRA. — Dr Graham Senior, Newton Mearns, East Renfrewshire.
