I feel I knew Echo in a previous life — we have a spiritual connection. I have a highly complex and romantic personality and my relationship with Echo reflects that. We both have many different personas. Mine are quite refined, but his range from posh and proper to low-life cockney. He has quite an aggressive character and has been known to administer little pecks when he’s riled. And he’s a real tinker when it comes to going to bed. As soon as I try to put the cloth on his cage, he starts swearing — I have no idea where he picked that up.
I have tried to teach him proper respect for women, and he is always gentle with me, although he does wolf-whistle when I walk past in bright clothes. That’s another thing we have in common, you see — he loves bright colours, too.
We always have breakfast together in the morning: he has tea off a spoon with a little honey, while I indulge in a selection of tropical fruit. It’s our quiet time together, a little bit of luxury before we start the day.
