Cherie’s doing 3 for 1 at No 10

WHO would have thought it? A story with the words “Cherie Blair” and “auction” in it, and not the word “scandal”.

At a fundraising dinner for the Clic Sargent children’s cancer charity last week, Mrs Blair donated a personally guided tour of No 10.

We’re told that bidding reached a stalemate at £25,000, with neither bidder (perhaps understandably) willing to go any higher. With a pragmatic shrug, Cherie offered them a tour each. Such was the applause that she then donated a third.

So, with the charity £75,000 richer, that’s three guided tours that Mrs Blair has promised to give of Downing Street.

So much to do, so little time.
