Hobbits revolt over sacking

There’s trouble in the shires. Peter Jackson’s removal as director from the planned prequel to The Lord of the Rings has been branded foolish by Frodo the Hobbit, better known as Elijah Wood. Speaking at the London premiere of Happy Feet, in which he voices Mumble, the tap-dancing penguin, Wood said of Jackson’s removal: “We’ll see about that. I think the jury is still out. But I was very disappointed by the news. I think it is foolish.”

His criticism comes after Gandalf, sorry, Sir Ian McKellen, admitted he is “very sad” about the decision, which he says has left fans feeling “a sense of betrayal”.

No comment from New Line, the producers. So preciousss.
