Sir, If Fisher Price is to make an exercise bike for children, linked to the television set to enable the fat brats to watch dross while they pedal (report, July 9), perhaps it could be modified so that the little darlings actually power the television itself?

And why stop at the television? Maybe the parents could power the washing machine, cooker and lighting in the same way? Obesity and energy consumption problems solved.
