Opera

When choreographers get their paws on Gluck’s Orfeo the results are usually horrible, but hopeful rumours are emerging about Opera North’s attempt appearing at the Edinburgh Festival on Wed (Festival Theatre, 0131-473 2000), with the brilliant counter-tenor Daniel Taylor singing the role of lovelorn Orpheus. It is directed by the Italo-Dutch contemporary dance/theatre team of Emio Greco and Pieter Scholten.
