A BOY aged 14 is recovering in hospital after being stabbed by another teenager as he delivered to the East End mini market in Motherwell yesterday morning. He was said to be in a stable condition.

Tayside crime up

CRIME in Tayside is on the rise because of increases in serious violence, housebreaking and car offences. Tayside joint police board said the number of reported offences rose by 2% between April and June. A total of 7,646 crimes were logged, up 140 on the same period last year. Chief Constable John Vine said: “While any rise is of concern, it is in the context of a comparatively low figure last year.”

Oil firm jobs boost

AN Aberdeen oil firm is to create 400 jobs. Production Services Network has already hired more than 700 staff since a management buyout May.
