of the energy drink Red Bull was jailed for leading police on a 50-mile chase. Peter Edwards, 48, from King’s Lynn, Norfolk, was sentenced to four months on Friday after Norwich crown court heard his car had swerved from side to side and driven across a roundabout on the chase last March.
President of Kosovo dies of cancer

THE president of Kosovo, Ibrahim Rugova, who embodied the ethnic Albanian struggle to separate from Serbia, died yesterday of lung cancer. Rugova, 61, a Sorbonne-educated literary professor, was diagnosed with the disease in September and had been treated at his home in Pristina. He had been at the forefront of demands for independence since the early 1990s.
Europe accused over ‘torture’ flights

THE Swiss politician investigating claims of CIA secret prisons and torture flights in Europe is expected this week to criticise Europe’s governments for a lack of co-operation. Dick Marty, a senator and former public prosecutor, will give a preliminary report of his findings to the Council of Europe — a human rights body — on Tuesday. Asked if Britain had helped his inquiry, he said: “Not directly, no.”
Teenage murder
A TEENAGER has been murdered by youths outside a Tube station. Christopher Jon Davis, 17, from Dagenham, was stabbed in the stomach at Upney station on Thursday night. Seven people have been arrested.

Pirates captured
AN American navy vessel captured a pirate crew off the Somali coast yesterday after firing warning shots. Crew from the missile destroyer Winston S Churchill found weapons on board the suspect ship.
