Museum of London invites protesters to donate placards, British drug trio jailed in Spain and two men drown off Blackpool coast

Protest show

The Museum of London has given people who took part in the march against public spending last weekend the chance to influence how history will remember them. It has invited them to bring in the flags and placards they used for a future exhibition.

British drug trio jailed

Three Britons have been jailed for a total of 25 years after being caught in Spain with £22m worth of cocaine. Karl Hayes, Andrew Cunliffe and Trevor Wade were arrested in Madrid after a tip-off from Britain. A court heard a planned cocaine shipment was masterminded by Robert Dawes, from Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire who is in jail in Dubai.

Two drown

Two men drowned in the sea yesterday. One was swept into the sea by a wave off Cocker Square in Blackpool, Lancashire. The second man fell into the water at Peacehaven, East Sussex. A group of construction workers failed to save him.
