ELEVEN people were arrested yesterday after trouble broke out at a Republican parade in Glasgow. About 400 protesters jeered and threw bottles as 1,000 marchers took part in the procession commemorating Bloody Sunday. Protesters, who had gathered in George Square carrying Union Jacks and placards saying “IRA murderers off our streets”, hurled abuse at the marchers. A heavy police presence prevented the violence that marred the same event last year.
